FAQ

All About the Site

  1. How long has THM Sadaqa Group been in business?

Walhamdulillah THM Sadaqa Group has been in operation by the mercy of Allah since 2004. Organizing classes for youth and adult participation.

  2. What is the Aqeedah and Manhaj of the Administration?

We at THM are upon the methodology of the Salaf. Adhering to Quran wa Sunnah and the path of the rightly guided predecessors.

  3. Is the homeschool program accredited?

No, we are not an accredited organization. The FTS Online Homeschool Program is not accredited. However, you can help us in this process by providing a written correspondence about our services after enrollment inshaAllah.

Your feedback is vital in the process! We ask that you participate in the process as much as possible. We have over the past few years in our other programs put out request for feedback and response. Although, we have received very positive feedback through email, IM's and verbally, this is not sufficient for what we need to achieve accredited status. Your written correspondence is needed to achieve this goal.

Having your student enrolled in an "accredited program" is not required for excellent and successful homeschooling nor is it required for acceptance to a state college or university.

Each participant is responsible for the purchase of books needed for the course they are enrolled in. Fees vary depending upon course selection.

  5. Scheduled Appointments with Administration

Parents are welcome to schedule an apointment with the administrator of the program to ask detail questions for specific answers. Admin Quotes are given sometimes. If you are given an admin quote that is not in accordance to statements read on the class pages, it will be your responsiblity to ask for an admin identification coupon number.

The admin identification coupon number provides a one-time only generated number that is case sensitive to your enrollment file. It will list all of your financial details for the discount being offered. You will receive an email listing the specifics of your identification coupon shortly after it has been filed inshaAllah.

GED Course

  1. What does GED stand for?

    Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

GED stands for the Tests of General Educational Development. The GED Test battery is a national examination developed by the GED Testing Service of the American Council on Education. The credential (certificate) earned for passing the test is widely recognized by colleges, training schools, and employers as equivalent to a high school diploma.

The American Council reports that almost all (more than 95 percent) of employers in the nation enploy GED graduates and offer them the same salaries and opportunities for advancement as high school graduates.

The GED Test reflects the major and lasting outcomes normally acquired in a four-year high school program. Since the passing rate for the GED is normed (based) on the performance of graduating high school seniors, you can rest assured that your skills are comparable.

For more information please read the textbook required for the GED course.

  2. What should I know to pass the test?

    Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Students are tested on knowledge and skills you have acquired from life experiences, work experiences, television, radio, books, magazines, newspapers, consumer products, and advertising. Many questions will involve the roles that adults play: citizen and community members, worker, and/or family members. Many documents are "how to" documents especially found in business settings.

In particular, keep these subjects in mind about the specific tests:

    1. Part I of the Language Arts, Writing Test requires you to recognize or correct errors, revise sentences or passages, or shift constructions in the four areas of organization, sentence structure, usage, and mechanics (capitalization, punctuation, and spelling). Informational test from business-related documents are used.

    2. Part II of the Language Arts, Writing Test requires students to write a well developed essay on a topic familiar to most adults. You will be asked to have an audience and a purpose in mind for the essay. Students are asked to generate ideas, express them clearly, organize the ideas, and connect them appropriately.

    Other subjects for the tests:

Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts Reading - require that students answer questions based on reading passages, interpreting graphs, charts, maps, cartoons, or diagrams. Developing strong reading and thinking skills is the key to succeeding on these tests.

Mathematics Test consist mostly of word problems to be solved. 50% of the questions require the use of a calculator. The other 50% of the questions a calculator is not permitted.

For more detailed information on each subject area refer to the text used.
