FTS Students Online will begin Tafsir for Surah Talaq

Posted by thmsadaqagroup on September 13, 2010 at 7:41 AM

Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

Students’ walhamdulillah have completed explanation (tafsir) of surah 64 at-Taghabun. We learned that Ibn Abbas said, at-Taghabun "is one of the names for the Day of Judgment."

*A reminder to students

Each Surah has history that will need to be recording and memorized by you. Where was the surah revealed? What details explain the events that were taking place at the time it was revealed. Any special benefits that you gained while reading the tafsir. Remember, it is not permissible to self-interpret the ayaat. So stay far away from that inshaAllah. Also, when quoting a hadith - DO NOT PARAPHRASE write it exactly as it is reported with the narrator or the source inshaAllah. May Allah protect all of us from falling into error aameen.

Quran/Tafsir 8am - Surah 65

Reading Assignment - Read Ayaat 1, 2, 3 in Arabic, and in English

Writing Assignment - Write each ayaat in Arabic three to five times each according to your needs; and then write its English equivalent once.

Submit A Benefit - After Reading the Tafsir that provides the explanation of the ayaat selection. Write down your benefit. This could be what the information made you think about or reflect upon. It could be a specific ahaadith or portion of an ayat, (BUT I WARN you again no self interpretations about the ayaat!)

How to tilte my submission

My first benefit from the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir - we have learned that Surah Talaq was revealed in al-Madinah. The reading begins with a reminder of why the first ayat is addressed to the prophet (salla allahu alaihi was salaam), it was a way "to honor him, even though his Ummah is also being addressed in Allah's statement." Ibn Kathir continues with the narrations that were reported in Sahih al Bukhari and in Sahih Muslim about one of the companions who had divorced his wife while she was menstruating, his name was Abdullah bin Umar (radi allahu anhu). He was ordered to take her back and the prophet (salla allahu alaihi wa sallaam) said: "When she is pure, then either divorce her or keep her."

Barakallahu Feekum

May Allah bless me and you with understanding of the religion , aameen

Tafsir page 32 - 35; 65-1

For all readers who would like to share your benefits with other students please submit it here May Allah increase us all upon righteousness, Taqwa, and accept our fasting and good deeds, aameen
