Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
Assalaamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh

As of today, Ramadan 16, 1438/June 11, 2017 mashaAllah tabarakAllah, I came across a message posted from abdurrahman.org forwarded from the tweet of Umar Quinn (Aboo Suhailah) hafidhullah, He states the following regarding the historical accounts written by Dr. Ali Muhammad Muhammad as-Sallaabee translated by Faisal Shafeeq or Nasir Khattab and Allah knows best:

"Many people own translated history books of Ali Sallabi, a Libyan extremist with terror ties. We must be more principled in purchasing books."

"Sallabi is a well-known Qutbi whose name heads the Gulf countries' recent terrorism list against Qatar along with Qaradawi & Others..."

"and his books are full of quotes from Qutb & Mawdudi..."

In light of these comments, may Allah continue to protect me and all of the participants, students, parents, and visitors from falling into error. Save us from the plots of those who are not upon correct guidance and give us the ability to remain upon the correct path of Quran wa Sunnah and the path of the Companions Allahumma aameen. Due to us posting some beginning content from these three history books for the Biographies of Abu Bakr as-Saddiq, Umar Ibn al-Khattab, and Uthmaan bin Affan (radiAllahu anhum) we free ourselves from any of this content until a further clarity can be made about its usage if at all and shall remove the few sentences, paragraphs or comments used under the benefits section at thmsadaqagroup.org and from the thmteach.com wordpress blog bi'ithnillah.

We thank you for your patience while we handle this process and ask that you inform us if we miss anything in the removal procedure over the next few days inshaAllah.

Jazakumullahu Khayraa Ya Muslimaat,
May Allah accept all of mine and your fasting and good deeds during the remainder of this blessed month of Ramadan, forgive us our sins and transgressions, and continue to guide us upon the siratul mustaqeem aameen.

Watch for an update as more is found out regarding this topic inshaAllah

The Wicked Origins of the Mawlid of the Prophet (salallaahu'alaihi wasallam)

The Wicked Origins of the Mawlid of the Prophet (salallaahu'alaihi wasallam) - The Birthday Celebration

It is not permitted to celebrate the birthday of Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam), or anyone else's birthday due to the simple fact that it is an innovation in the Religion - Allaah's Messenger did not celebrate his own birthday, nor did he encourage anyone else to do so. The Rightly Guided Caliphs after him - Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali (radhi Allaahu 'anhum) - likewise did not celebrate his birthday, and nor did they celebrate their own birthdays, and nor of any Prophet that came before our noble Prophet (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam). It's obligation, allowance or recommendation is not stated in any verse from the Book of Allaah, nor in the authentic hadeeth of His Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wasallam). The mere mention of the event of the Prophet's birth and his nobility and virtue over the rest of creation, which is accepted by every Muslim, is not a proof for the permissibility of celebrating his birthday, as will be made clear in this discussion (inshaa'Allaah).

Who should one befriend?
Author: Shaykh Umar ibn Muhamad as-Subayl (Rahimahullah)
Jumah Khutbah: Masjid al-Haram

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. May peace and blessings be upon the noble Prophet, his family and companions. Fellow Muslims! Fear Allah as he should be feared and stand firm in your obedience to Him for He has promised those who return to Him and stand firm in their belief in Him best reward He says:

"Verily those who say, 'Our Lord is only Allah;' and thereafter stood firm and straight, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. Such shall be the dwellers of Paradise, abiding therein (forever), a reward for what they used to do ." (Al–Ahqaaf 46: 13–14)

One of the greatest things that help Muslims to have piety and uprightness on the path of truth and guidance is keeping the company of good people and avoiding evil company, for man, by his nature, gets influenced by his friends and companions and adopts their characters and manners. Also, man's character is known through his brothers and friends as pointed out by the Prophet when he said,

"Man is on the religion of his friend, so let every one of you examine whom he befriends." (Aboo Dawood and others) Abdullah ibn Mas'ood said,

"Nothing tells about anything more than a man tells about his companions ." Some wise men say.

"People think of a man what they think of his companions." There is no wonder then that Islam shows great concern on the matter of companionship and friendship so much so that the Prophet directed every individual of the Muslim community to select only righteous and pious people as friends and companions. He said,

"Do not befriend except the believer and nobody should eat your food (with you) except the pious." (Aboo Dawood and others) The Messenger of Allah also laid an example for a good and evil companions with perceptible things when he said,

"The example of the good and evil companions is like a bearer of musk and a person blowing a pair of bellows. As for the musk bearer, he either gives you some, or you buy from him or at least you get a pleasant smell from him. As for the bellows blower he either gets your clothes burnt or you get an unpleasant smell from him ." (Al–Bukharee and Muslim) Al–Haafiz ibn Hajar, while commenting on this hadeeth said,

"There is in this hadeeth prohibition of keeping the company of those who can harm one in religious and worldly matters; and an encouragement for keeping the company of those who can benefit one in these matters. " It is then wise and logical that man should only keep the company of those who benefit him in matters of his religion and life, for the best companion is the one who is pious, righteous, possesses noble conduct and manners, has a clear conscience and is ambitious; these characteristics then being completed if he is also learned in the sciences, arts and Islamic Jurisprudence and possesses wisdom. These are the characteristics of those one can feel comfortable and happy in their company because of their sincerity, their assistance during difficulties and one's safety from any evil act from their part. Whoever is fortunate enough to have a companion with these attributes, that is a sign for his happiness and success. He must therefore hold fast to him, fulfill his right of companionship and be truthful with him. He should also respect him, share with him his happy and sad moments, assist him in hardship and overlook his mistakes, because no man is free of errors and mistakes and it is enough an honour for a man that his faults are at least countable.

Brothers in faith! The worst of all companions is the one who has had a bad influence on his friend, is weak religiously, evil in conduct, has no clear conscience and nothing good is said of his behavior. He is concerned only with achieving his desires even if that is to be at the expense of his religion and manliness. He may even have a total disregard for religion and chivalry and dishonor the rights of friendship. Befriending such a person is a kind of suffering and a sure way to misery because of what he can cause whoever sits with him of calamities by diverting him from remembrance of Allah and His obedience, preventing him from having noble conduct and means of manliness, accustoming him to obscene talk, instigating him to commit immoral acts and making him waste his time in useless amusements, wasteful spending and other forbidden things. Let us ponder, dear brothers in Islam, over the condition of those who are afflicted with drug addiction, perpetration of immoral acts and earning from unlawful means like usury, bribery and the like and see the bad situation they and their families are in and the evil impact they have on those who mix with them and befriend them. It is in fact a sign of misery that one sits with this set of people who offer nothing to those who sit with them except sorrow and regret for they may destroy for them their religion and conduct and make them lose both this world and the next and that is the most clear loss. Allah says,

"And (remember) the Day when the wrongdoer will bite at his hands, he will say: O! Would that I had taken a path with the Messenger (Muhammad). Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so–and–so as a friend. He indeed led me astray from the reminder (the Qur'an) after it had come to me. And Satan is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need. " (Al–Furqaan 25: 27–29)

Those are some characteristics of the pious and wise people whom one should befriend and some characteristics of bad company and immoral people whom one should beware of. People, fall into different categories. Some have an inclination to do good and virtuous deeds while others are inclined towards evil. The judicious and discrete person therefore judges people with the criteria of Islamic injunctions and justice. Whoever he sees that his good and benefits outweigh his evil and harm, he takes him as a friend and companion and vice versa. Whoever aspires for friendship and companionship of righteous and pious people will be made fortunate to achieve that in accordance with his intention and efforts. Brothers in faith! Let us all be reminded that all friendships shall end in enmity and hatred sooner or later except a friendship that is between pious people for it is everlasting in this world and the hereafter. Therefore fear Allah and be dutiful to Him, follow the way of rightly guided people and the pious ones by making friends with only good men and avoiding the sinful and wrongdoers. Allah says,

"Friends on that Day (the Day of Judgment) will be foes except al–Muttaqoon (the pious)." (Az–Zukhruf 43: 67)

Fellow Muslims! Fear Allah as He should be feared and die not except as Muslims. Reflect – May Allah have mercy on you – over the condition of many people today, especially the youth and their corruption in matters of belief and manners and see how that was caused by keeping bad company of those who call to falsehood and evil desires through different methods. They spread evil and poisonous materials and see to it that youths leave the path of truth, virtue and order and follow the way of error and allurement in spite of Allah's warning when He says:

"And obey not him whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance, one who follows his own lust and whose affairs (deeds) have been lost." (Al–Kahf 18: 28)

This phenomenon is a harbinger of doom and calamity for this ummah if the reformers among Muslims and concerned men like scholars, thinkers, educators and journalists do not exert all their efforts and make use of all available means to reform the youth morally and protect them against those who call to evil and those who are slaves of their lustful desires and whims. Fathers and mothers are therefore obliged before anybody else to take good care of their children, nurture them on Islamic teachings and manners and protect them from bad company and means that lead to evil in order that they may be good children and prosper in this world and the next. Parents, by doing so, will be doing what Allah has made obligatory on them.

Dear fathers and mothers! These are the great responsibilities thrust upon you by Allah, so discharge them diligently. Allah addresses you,

"O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels, stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. " (At–Tahreem 66: 6)

the winter.

The Qur’an agreed with him. Meaning Allah (Subaanah Wa Ta’ala) sent ayahs after
he suggested something to the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam).

One day Umar Ibn Khataab was standing on the minbar and their was muslims 100
miles away and an army was about to attack, on the minbar he stopped and said
“watch out” and they heard him in his voice 100 miles away.

Hadiths quoted from Sahih Muslim Kitab Fadail Al Sahabah “Virtues of the
Companions”

Saheeh Muslim Hadith #5885
Ibn Abi Mulaika reported: I heard Ibn Abbas as saying: When Umar Ibn Khataab
was placed in the coffin the people gathered around him. They praised him and
supplicated for him before the bier was lifted up, and I was one amongst them.
No thing attracted my attention but a person who gripped my shoulder from
behind. I saw towards him and found that he was Ali. He invoked on Allah’s
mercy upon Umar and said: You have left none behind you whose deeds are so
enviable that I love to meet Allah with them. By Allah, I hoped that Allah
would keep you and your two associated together. I had often heard Allah’s
Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) as saying: I came and there came too
Abu Bakr and Umar; I entered and there entered too Abu Bakr and Umar; I went
out and there went out too Abu Bakr and Umar and I hope and think that Allah
will keep you along with them.

***Dawud Adib mentions that the coffin here means the bier that they use to
carry a person, not the coffin that are used in these times. Also that the
Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said there will be two people after me
so follow them Abu Bakr and Umar. ***

Sahih Muslim Hadith #5887
Abu Sa’id Khudri reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) as
saying: While I was asleep I saw people being presented to me in a dream and
they wore shirts and some of these reached up to the breasts and some even
beyond them. Then there happened to pass Umar Ibn Khataab and his shirt had
been trailing. They said: Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) how
do you interpret the dream? He said as strength of faith.

***Dawud Adib mentions strength of faith meaning deen. Umar Ibn Khataab was
called Al Faaruq- The one that distinguish between what is right and wrong, the
sunnah and the biddah, Tawhid and Shirk, the right path and the wrong path.***

Sahih Muslim Hadith #5890
Abu Hurairah reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) as
saying: While I was asleep I saw myself on a well with a leather bucket on a
pulley. I drew water out of that as Allah wished me to draw. Then the son of
Abu Quhafa, Abu Bakr drew from it one bucketful or two and there was some
weakness in drawing that (may Allah forgive him) Then that bucket changed into
a large bucket and Ibn Khataab drew it. I did not see any strongest man drawing
it like Umar Ibn Khataab. He brought out so much water that the camels of the
people had enough to drink and then laid down for rest.

Sahih Muslim Hadith #5898
Abu Hurairah reported Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) as
saying: While I was asleep I saw myself in paradise and a saw a women
performing ablution by the side of a palace. I said: For whom is it meant? They
said: It is meant for Umar Ibn Khataab. The messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa
Sallam) said: There came across my mind the feeling of Umar and so I turned
back and went away. Abu Hurairah said: Umar wept as we were present in that
meeting with the Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) amongst us and Umar
said may my father and mother be taken as ransom for you. Could I at all feel
any jealousy about you?

Sahih Muslim Hadith #5899
Sa’d Ibn Waqqas reported that Umar sought permission from the Prophet
(Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) to visit him when some women of the Quraish were
busy in talking with him and raising their voices above his voice. When Umar
sought permission they stood up and went hurriedly behind the curtain. The
Prophet said (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) I wonder at these women who were
with me and no sooner did they hear your voice, they immediately went behind
the curtain. Thereupon Umar said: Allah Messenger, you have more right that
they should fear you. Then Umar (addressing the women) said. O ye enemies of
yourself, Do you fear me and fear not the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu
Alaihi Wa Sallam)? They said YES you are harsh and strict as compared to the
Messenger of Allah. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger said by him in whose hand is my
life, If satan would encounter you on the road he would certainly take a
different way.

***Dawud Adib mentions here that satan is meaning iblis himself not a satan in
general. Also he stated the sisters of our time do exactly what the women of
the past have done by talking over the sheiks, imams, at lectures, and jummah.
But if Umar was alive we would not do it and the proof is from the hadith. (May
Allah help us and rectify our affairs)***

Sahih Muslim Hadith #5903
Ibn Umar reported Umar as saying: My lord concorded with my judgment on three
occoasions. In the case of the station of Ibrahim. In the case of the
observance of the veil and in the case of the prisoners of Badr.

***Dawud Adib mentions that the station of Ibrahim means the kabbah and the
place for salat. He made the suggestion for the women to cover and this is
where the establishment of the hijab came about. In the case of the prisoners
of badr they were killed as Umar suggested and Abu Bakr said let them go.***

Sahih Muslim Hadith #5904
Ibn Umar reported that when Abdullah Ibn Ubayy Ibn Salul (the hypocrite) died,
his son Abdullah Ibn Abdullah came to the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu
Alaihi Wa Sallam) and asked him to give his shirt which should be used for the
coffin of his father. He gave that to him. The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa
Sallam) stood up to say prayer over him. Thereupon Umar caught a hold of the
clothe of Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) and said, are you
going to offer prayer whereas Allah has forbidden to offer prayer for him.
Whereupon the Messenger of Allah (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said Allah has
given me a choice saying ask forgiveness for them or you may not ask for them:
even if you ask for them seventy times, I will make an addition seventy times.
He was a hypocrite and Allah’s Messenger (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) said
prayer over him that Allah the exalted and glorious reveled the ayah: “ And
never pray over any one of them that has died and never should you stand by his
grave. Surah Tawbah Ayah 84

*** Dawud Abid mention that this is proof that we can not attend the funerals
of the non-muslims with the exception of your father and mother and as long as
there is no shirk or biddah***

Also he pointed out how all the hadiths talk about receiving revelations.

Subhanaka Allahumma wa Bi Hamdika Ash hadu an la ilaha ill Anta Astaghfiruka wa
