    Word Review

    Lesson 1

still , best, bat, mom, just, desk, clock, hut, fit, plant

    Story writer words:

students can use any or all of the words above to create a story based upon something that really happen. (This does not mean only to the child) they can tell what may have happened to someone else also inshaAllah.

example of a short story combining details using some words from the list:

When Ismael (alaihi salaam) was a little boy he lived with his mom. Just like other young men, Ismael was a help to his father. His father was named Ibrahim (alaihi salaam) the friend of Allah. Ismael and his Father rebuilt the first house of worship for Allah together. They called this the "House of Allah" or "the Kabah". You can still see the Kabah if you go to visit the Holy city of Mecca. The best time to go there would be for Hajj inshaAllah. While on Hajj you can stay in tents that look like a hut. Don't worry all of your things will fit in it. You may even be able to put a small clock there too.

Please Prepare for test 1 inshaAllah.

*Reminder about the Story Writer Words: Please have your children to tell the truth in the writings inshaAllah. Meaning they can relay what has happened to them or another person, but not from made up situations this would be falsehood. Jazakillahu khayrun akhawaat. You can see from the example above, that a storyline can be created from using the facts inshaAllah.

What is the difference between a horse and a camel?

Hadith about Horse Racing: Narrated by Abdullah bin Umar (radi allahu anhu)

Allah's Apostle ordered for a horse race; the trained horses were to run from a place called Al-Hafya' to Thaniyat Al-Wada' and the horses which were not trained were to run from Al-Thaniya to the Masjid (mosque of) Bani Zuraiq. The sub narrator added: Ibn Umar was one of those who took part in the race.

and Allah ta'ala has said about the camels:

"Do they not look at the camels, and how they were created? And at the heavens, how it is raised? And at the mountains, how they are rooted and fixed firm? And at the earth, how it is spread out?" (Surah Al-Ghaashiyah 88:17-20)

There are stories about elephants mentioned in Islam , do you know any?

Allah has told us that there are several types of cattle in the Qur'aan, camels are one type that was mentioned and we will use this for our next lesson inshaAllah. Can you name the other types before next week?
